Meet the Team:
Rigo Riojas
Director, IC and Systems Integrators
Welcome to the very first edition of our new Meet The Team series, where each month we will showcase the talent and expertise of a team member within the Archon Secure organization. Today we are excited to introduce you to Rigo Riojas, Director of IC and Systems Integrators.
Rigo is an integral part of the Archon Secure sales process, and we sat down with him to ask a few questions about his role at Archon and why he loves what he does.
What is your role at Archon Secure?
I'm involved in probably every aspect of all of the sales at Archon, from the engineering to the sales, to the go to market strategy. I like being involved and still getting my hands dirty because I have an engineering background.
How long have you been at Archon Secure?
I've been at Archon/ ID technologies for four and a half years.
How long have you worked in the industry?
It's been 19 years. Since 2003 I've been in the federal IT industry.
What is your favorite part of working at Archon Secure?
It's the people. I love the people I work with. We have a really cool group of people that are fun to interact with and talk to, but also the technology. We have some really neat technology that's changing the way the government does business in all aspects. So it's fun to be a part of that.
What led you to pursue this career?
I came out of college with a computer science degree in programming. So we spent our days talking to computers, and I quickly realized I talked to people as good or better than I do to computers. That was kind of my leg up. Having the IT background and that component mixed with it was a good fit for me.
What skills have been the most beneficial to you in this field?
Outside of the technical background, I think more than that just my ability to connect with people. At the end of the day, sales is people selling to people. I quickly realized people buy from who they know and who they like to work with. So I kind of lean into that.
How does your background at Dell inform the work you are doing now?
Everything we do, at least today, has a big Dell drag to it. From the architecture to even the channel of how we sell Archon, Dell plays a big part. Understanding them as a company, their ability to go to market, and then kind of marrying that with cool technology makes a good team.
What are the values that drive you?
Accountability. I think when people ask me to do something or accomplish a goal, I want them to know it's gonna get done. And availability. I like being available. Whether it's email, phone, text, I want people to know when they reach out, they're gonna get a response.
What do you do when you aren’t at work?
I’m either watching my daughter dance, watching my son and his band activities, working out with my wife, or playing golf. That's it.
